Why is this roof rack more expensive?
We design the tube to be shipped, the production and manufacturing needed to fabricate are more complex.
Can I walk on the roof?
Yes, you can walk on the floor beams.
Does the rack work with a rear camera?
The roof rack can shift back and forth on the rails, for example, to position the loop in front of a rear camera if needed.
Can I use different solar panels?
Yes, you can. The maximum width is 1285mm and we recommend not longer than 1000mm.
Can I mount the roof rack on the OEM rails?
No, however with modification this might be possible. We do not offer nor recommend the modification.
Can I have a different layout?
Yes, all parts can be shifted on the 300cm rails and can be positioned depending on your preferred or needed layout.
Can I order different parts?
Yes, you can order parts separetly.
can I mount an awning?
Yes, you can mount any wall-mounted awnings like Fiamma and Thule. For an L2 we recommend a 300cm awning.
Is there any max load on the roof rack?
The max load on the roof rack is the vehicle's max specified roof load minus the roof rack weight (roof rack weight: approx. 15-30kg).
What is the best position for roof cables?
The best place to position your cables is under the solar panels.
Why are solar panels often positioned in the front?
You enter the roof mostly from the back. You don't need to climb over the panels if they are positioned in the front.
Does my roof rack create shade?
Yes, the roof rack and solar panels stop the van a little bit from heating.
Can I change the setup later?
Yes, all parts are removable and can be changed any time in the future, when for example placing airconditioning.
What is the best place to run wires?
In the rails there is space to run wires front to back.
